Hi I'm gonna buy tropica fertilizer fir my lowtech aquarium. I read that phosphate is essential for even slow growing plants & fish waste does not produce enough phosphate & need to be added in inorganic form.so I'm confused of buying tropica premium or tropica specialized fertilizer. Can you suggest me?

What type of cushioning do you use under the tanks or are they directly on a hard surface? Was there any cushioning on the tank bottoms during transport to protect the tanks from bouncing on the hard surfaces when the lorry hit a bump? This is one of the few plants that have done well. Even trouble with Anubias which just grow algae. Occasionally a leaf will die down but there is alway a new one that will replace it.

I’ll be honest, I don’t do water changes in my 180 but every few months. My parameters stay good and my fish do better. Of course that’s just me. Not saying it’s right for all. I have a heavily planted tank and many small fish other than 2 Angel fish. I found the once a week or once twice a week caused me more problems with fish deaths and plant problems. I’m NOT kicking anybody that do weekly water changes by any means but I wonder if sometimes we keep it too perfect when fish don’t live in any perfect environment. My water stays crystal clear. I’m thinking of slowly adding tannins. I do use leaves.
